Cheshire in control

CHESHIRE A overwhelmed Sandiway, restricting the club team to a solitary win and a halved match in the foursomes and two halves in the singles.

David Hird (Leasowe) won his singles match 6&5 and Cheshire’s other winners in the singles were Ian Winstanley (Warrington), Edward Parker (Crewe), Josh Sims (Caldy), Kevin Kean (Ashton-on-Mersey), Iain Davie (Hazel Grove), Craig Lewis (Prenton), James West (Altrincham), Rob Hearty (Bromborough) and Martin Leese (Astbury).

Cheshire won 15½-2½.

Cheshire Seniors are holding a pre-season meeting at Crewe next Monday before taking on Durham at Barnard Castle on Wednesday, April 23.

The Cheshire Golf Union’s first Spring meeting is at Leasowe on April 24.
