Golf: Martin Edge finds a double silver lining in debut season in Alliance

HESKETH Golf Club’s Assistant Professional Martin Edge has enjoyed a highly successful campaign in the Liverpool Alliance.

The Southport golfer has recorded wins in both the John Burton Trophy held at Hillside and the Gary Taylor Trophy held at Grange Park in St Helens.

It is Martin’s first full season in the Alliance and to add to his overall victories he also landed a hole in one at Prenton when the Alliance visited the Wirral course.

His below par round of 71 at Hillside included two prodigious hits to reach Hillside’s par five 17th in two to ease him clear of his fellow professionals on the day.
