Golf: Reds are on the greens

FORMER Liverpool players will be among those lining up at Wallasey this summer for the second annual Charity Golf fund-raiser.

The event takes place on Monday, July 28.

The event is being held to help promote Wallasey and benefit the local community, with more than 200 players likely to take part at the championship course on the Wirral. Former Anfield stars David Fairclough, Ronnie Whelan and Gary Gillespie have indicated they will again be submitting a team.

Last year’s event raised more than £2,500 for Clatterbridge Oncology Centre.
