Golf: Dale Marmion’s last day misery

A NIGHTMARE start to his final round cost Dale Marmion the chance of his maiden victory in the Europro Tour.

The Eaton-attached professional went into the last day as joint leader at the second event of the season, The Shire London.

But he dropped six shots in the opening five holes to leave himself with an uphill struggle just to get back up the leaderboard.

Three birdies pointed to a fightback before further bogeys at the 15th and 17th left Marmion with a 77 to go with his 69,71 start. That left the Cheshire player in a share of 25th, which leaves him in 47th on the Order of Merit.
