Golf: Paul Waring makes cut in Ireland

PAUL WARING was the only local player to make the cut at the Irish Open.

The Bromborough player fought back from an opening 76 with a two under 70 at Adare Manor. A third round 75 was followed by a disappointing 81 on the final day which left Waring in a share of 59th on 14 over par 302. Waring now lies 151st on the Order of Merit in his rookie year with 58,149 euros from nine starts.

Meanwhile, a strong finish from Eaton’s Dale Marmion earned him a share of third on the Europro Tour event at Collingtree Park.
