Oct 1 Bromborough; 9 Caldy; 15 Portal (first round Alliance championship, plus subsidiary event); 22 Southport & Ainsdale second round Alliance champion and subsidiary event); 29 Vicars Cross. Nov 5 Warrington; 12 Heswall; 19 Eaton; 26 Childwall (Stan Barrow Trophy). December 4 Delamere Forest (Trevor Rushton, All Winners Trophy).
BARRY TAYLOR’S decision to turn down a Europro tour event to play in the final meeting of the Alliance’s spring season was rewarded by wins in both the individual and pro-am sections of the meeting at Eastham Lodge.
The Houghwood professional won the individual with 41, a round of 63 which included seven consecutive threes, six birdies on seven holes and only hole with a one-point return.
Ian Finnis of Formby Hall was second with 36.
Taylor, with club partner Stan Walker, won the pro-am with 43, three ahead of two partnerships, Finnis with Steve Hudson from Blundells Hill and Jason O’Brien and Neil Scahill from Widnes.
Tom O’Brien of Childwall and Dave Bynoth of Aldersey Green won the am-am with 44 points.
