Enid drives in to her drive-in

THE NEW captains at Vicars Cross golf club have turned their annual drive-in into a different kind of tradition.

The in-coming officials adopt a themed approach to the start of their year and 2008 lady captain Enid Pattison was no exception.

She launched her year at the Chester club by arriving in a cream vintage car and wearing an attractive bright orange golf outfit. After she had teed off the lady members followed suit with an enjoyable competition followed by afternoon tea, the prize presentation and a talk by Barbara Baird on some of the new CONGU rules.

The most outstanding players for the winter season were Margaret Davies, Angela Hethrington and Karen Topliffe, who all received a number of prizes presented by the lady captain.
