LIVERPOOL youngster Eloise Healey visited Open championship venue Turnberry to play a hole with sports stars including Colin Montgomerie, Paul Casey and Tim Henman, the reward for her success in the Wee Wonders tournament at St Andrews.
After finishing top of all the age groups in the qualifying round at Troon, playing against the boys and the girls, she also won her group in the final at the famous home of golf with rounds of 30-32 gross, two over par, over nine holes, part of a highly successful season for the rapidly developing young star from Childwall in Liverpool.
She also won the US Kids European Championships at Gullane, Scotland, a success which brought her an invitation to play in the US Kids World Championships, at Pinehurst, North Carolina, where she finished 15th in her age group.
The 11 years-old, a pupil at Childwall CoE Primary School, plays a number of different sports, including tennis.
She has hit balls with Andy Murray, runs with Liverpool Harriers and swims with the Liverpool Swimming Club’s Development Squad.
But golf is her number one sport.
Her home club is Lee Park and she is also a member at Styal. Her handicap has reduced by almost half this season, to eleven.
