Frodsham take first Shield triumph

THE ladies of Frodsham are the 2008 winners of the Cheshire B Shield.

After winning their regional group, they beat Wirral Ladies in the semi-final of the West Cheshire B Shield and then Bromborough in the final at Heswall.

Frodsham then beat East Cheshire B Shield winners Birchwood in the county final to win the B Shield for the first time.

Frodsham were represented in the final by Jo Carter, Les Thornhill, Gill Watkins, Sue Wiseman, Hilary Jones, Hilary Stanton and Elaine Clarke. Others taking part in the 2008 Shield campaign were Madeline Thompson, Rosie Baxendale, Dot Bird, Anne Coomer, Jane Hale, Viv Bondi, Kim Davies, Marie Turton, Cynthia Woodhall and Hazel Kelsall.
