‘Here come the girls’ is golfer Lauren Drake’s clear message

LAUREN DRAKE, from Wallasey, has been selected to become an ambassador on the Golf Ambassadors Programme launched by Buckinghamshire New University in partnership with the Berks Bucks and Oxon (BB&O) Golf Partnership.

The aims of the programme are to provide students with real hands-on experience in the golf industry and to provide the BB&O Golf Partnership with high quality sports management volunteers.

Lauren is one of just four second year BA (Hons) Sports Management & Golf Studies students from Bucks New University to have been chosen to work alongside the BB&O Golf Partnership in the new programme.

She said: “I was honoured to be selected for the role of club and school liaison officer as I have a strong interest in the development of golf, in particular with encouraging more girls in to the game, having been the only junior girl member at my hometown club, Bidston Golf Club.

“In the few training sessions we have had so far, the experience and opportunities given to us have been invaluable.

The dedication of the organisers has been inspiring and I look forward to the coming year which I’m sure will be an exciting challenge.”
