THOSE stockbroker types at Investec Wealth & Investment in Liverpool have gone a bit wild.
The firm, formerly Rensburg Sheppards, has a zebra as its corporate mascot.
So, with this in mind, it has decided to sponsor the herd of real zebras at Chester Zoo.
The herd is part of the European Endangered Species Breeding Programme (EEP), which regularly moves animals between zoos to promote breeding and maintain genetic diversity in zoo populations.
Chester Zoo is home to Grevy’s zebras, below, which are immediately recognisable by their distinctive mohawk-like manes and vertical black and white stripes.
Jon Seal, the director in charge of the Liverpool office of Investec Wealth & Investment said: “Investec’s strapline is ‘out of the ordinary’ and it is captured in our distinctive brand icon of a zebra, so it seemed fitting to show our support by forging a link with Chester Zoo.
“We’re delighted that we can do our bit to contribute to the welfare of zebras and look forward to hearing about their progress.”
