IT’S time to get your skates on if you are thinking of entering this year’s Daily Post Regional Business Awards.
The deadline to enter this prestigious event expires at the end of this month. But if you are quick there is still enough time to submit an entry for one or more of the nine categories in this ever-popular event.
The full list of categories appears below, but this week we are focusing on three of them: The University of Liverpool Corporate Social Responsibility award, The Mersey Partnership Investment of the Year award and the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce International Trader of the Year award.
The Corporate Social Responsibility award is for companies that can show how they have donated time or money to local good causes from their own profits and resources.
University of Liverpool Vice-Chancellor Professor Drummond Bone said: "The University of Liverpool is an integral part of the community and makes a major contribution to the region's economy. We are currently investing £21.9m in initiatives designed to share the institution's expertise with business and the public sector.
"As one of the largest employers on Merseyside, we believe strongly in Corporate Social Responsibility and have just launched a major project with our partners to improve the health of the city's population and further align the NHS and local authority public health agenda with the goals of the business sector.
"The 'Health is Wealth' commission has the backing of Universities, local authorities, Primary Care Trusts, the NHS, economic development agencies and education and business interests, and will make a real impact on both the well-being of the city's population and its economy.”
The International Trade category is for businesses that can show how their exports to overseas markets have benefited the local economy.
Jack Stopforth, chief executive of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, said: “With more than 150 years’ history of supporting global trade, Liverpool Chamber of Commerce has developed a wide range of services benefiting from its global network of partners and contacts.
