AN INDUSTRIAL facility in Ellesmere Port that supplies polyester products for the automotive, marine, aviation and windmill blade sectors is to benefit from a £3m investment.
DSM Composite Resins UK will invest £2m into the plant with another £1m coming from the Northwest Development Agency.
The money will be used to make improvements to a warehouse and raw material weighing facilities as well as building a new maintenance shop.
Plant managing director Tony McHugh said the investment would help safeguard future employment for the 63 employees.
He added: “DSM is proud to be able to make this important commitment to the long-term sustainability of the Ellesmere Port site.
“The investment will be a major boost to the site and the continuing security of our employees.”
DSM Composite Resins UK is a unit of Dutch multinational DSM, the largest producer of structural resins in Europe.
The site in Ellesmere Port is used for the production of unsaturated polyester products. This DSM site has been based in Ellesmere Port for more than 40 years. DSM acquired it in 1988 from HH Robertson (Freeman).
