Design on city’s agenda

LIVERPOOL records a significant architectural hat-trick next month.

An exhibition celebrating the life of the 20th century’s most famous designer, Le Corbusier, is launched and the world-famous Stirling Prize is announced in Liverpool.

In addition, the first- ever design awards organised by Liverpool Architectural Society (LAS) take place at a grand dinner at St George’s Hall.

LAS president Mushtaq Saleri said: “This is to continue the city’s celebrated legacy of being home to some of the most magnificent buildings in the world.”

A dinner takes place at St George's Hall on October 9.

Tom Bloxham, from Urban Splash, will be among the judges. Meanwhile, the Royal Institute of British Architects Trust brings the Stirling Prize to the Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre, on October 11.
