LIVERPOOL businesses are committed to going green but want more support to take advantage of new opportunities that come their way, a poll has shown.
Liverpool Chamber of Commerce members took part in the British Chambers of Commerce Energy Efficiency and Environment Survey, in which over 75% of respondents accepted businesses had a responsibility to reduce the impact of climate change.
More than half of the Liverpool firms who took part said they believed the drive to reduce carbon emissions in the UK would create business opportunities for them, but said they wanted more support and advice from local and regional government.
The Chamber’s head of policy and information Maresa Molloy said:
“Next year’s Year of the Environment status provides fresh momentum to SMEs to look at their carbon emissions. This assistance needs to be above and beyond what is available today.”
