A YOUNG Liverpool accountant has out-performed nearly 1,000 other students and recorded the highest score in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales’ professional stage examination.
Laura Brophy, who works at the Liverpool office of accountancy firm Baker Tilly, won the Institute’s Knox Prize for her endeavours and has now been recognised locally for her “outstanding young professional talent” by the Institute of Financial Services (IFS).
Laura was presented with the IFS award by Andrew Bailey, chief cashier at the Bank of England at an event at the Echo arena.
Ms Brophy said: “To win two prizes like this is fantastic and to receive the award from Andrew Bailey was a real honour.
“I’m grateful to everyone, particularly the ICAEW who nominated me.”
