Cheshire Oaks report sales rise

WIRRAL retail park Cheshire Oaks has seen a small rise in sales in the three months to November 2.
Sales increased 1.3%, although the number of people visiting the site rose 9%. Across McArthurGlen’s seven UK parks, sales have grown 2.3% and shoppers are up 4%.
Henrik Madsen, UK regional director of McArthurGlen, the firm which manages the retail park, said: “Our outlet shopping concept is weathering the credit crunch storm as bargain-hungry shoppers increasingly look for low prices without compromising on quality.
“We expect this trend to continue in the run- up to Christmas, as consumers look for ways to make their money go further.”
Cheshire Oaks and sister parks in Bridgend and Swindon were this year bought for £365m by Henderson Global Investors.
