TWO leading North West public sector figures are backing a Merseyside campaign to make it easier for local firms to tender and win work with public agencies.
Private sector lobby group Downtown Liverpool in Business (DLIB) is running the campaign – Liverpool Local – which is calling on the public sector to review its procurement procedures.
Steven Broomhead, chief executive of the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA), and Liverpool Vision chief executive Jim Gill gave their backing yesterday.
DLIB chairman Frank McKenna said:
“We are urging local authorities, health organisations and housing associations to work with us in adopting practices that provide them with best value, and Liverpool firms with a level playing field.”
