ORMSKIRK-BASED caravan park operator Barleymow is expanding its operations with the acquisition of a holiday park in Yorkshire.
With backing from the Royal Bank of Scotland, the company has purchased Cawood Park for an undisclosed sum.
It had previously held a 50% stake in the business for a number of years.
The 12-acre site is situated in Selby and offers a mix of holiday accommodation including bungalows, cottages, fixed and mobile caravan pitches.
Cawood Park is open throughout the year, and holds a four-star rating under the AA’s recognition scheme for caravan and camping parks. The site benefits from its own coarse fishing lake, a licensed club house and an onsite shop.
Barleymow is a family-run business that was established in 1981 and owns Shaw Hall Caravan Park, near Scarisbrick.
The park, which is bordered by the Leeds Liverpool Canal, offers 300 static pitches and 45 touring pitches.
Sally Pringle, director of Barleymow, said: “Cawood benefits from an idyllic natural location and our goal is to establish the site as one of Yorkshire’s premier holiday establishments.”
