THE worlds of creativity and commerce are being brought together at the Bluecoat next week at an event for the creative leaders of the future.
The School Lane centre is hosting the A-Frame Figures of Speech event on Thursday to bring together entrepreneurs from the creative and business worlds.
The A-Frame programme was created by London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts as a way of inspiring a new generation of creative entrepreneurs.
Speakers will be given just five minutes each to talk about one thing that has inspired them in their career.
Nathan Jones, of Liverpool arts collective Mercy, and artist Sean Hawkridge are already confirmed as speakers at the Liverpool event and other speakers will be added to the programme over the next week.
Bluecoat chief executive Alastair Upton said: “This is an interesting event, looking at the role of creative entrepreneurship, and it is an important time to be doing it.”
The A-Frame project is backed by the Treasury-backed Cultural Leadership Programme, which aims to promote and develop the UK’s creative industries.
A spokeswoman for the ICA said: “A-Frame aims to marry the support that business people can offer and the creative solutions the arts can offer to deliver mutually beneficial partnerships to exchange ideas, advice and services.”
