GOOD news from the business world may have been in relatively short supply in the last 12 months but the region’s successes will be highlighted at the Liverpool Daily Post’s Regional Business Awards.
Nine awards will be handed out at the event at St George’s Hall on Wednesday, June 24, including the Businesslink North West Medium Business Award and Liverpool Vision Investment of the Year Award.
The other awards include ones for exporters, firms working in the knowledge sector, and small businesses, as well as the DLA Piper Business Person of the Year.
Firms which employ between 51 and 250 people are encourage to enter the Businesslink North West Medium Business Award.
The award, which last year was won by Wirral’s B&M Waste, will go to the firm which can demonstrate outstanding business performance, specific business achievements and strong financial performance.
Business Link Northwest is an independent, free-to-use business support and information service providing relevant and up to date information for all businesses in Merseyside and the North West and people thinking of starting their own company in the region.

The Liverpool Vision Investment of the Year Award will recognise the firm that has made an investment, since January, 2007, which has had a beneficial impact on the business and the local economy.
Judges are searching to recognise and reward firms that are new to the region or existing businesses making fresh investments. Last year, retailer TJ Morris won the award for its £35m investment in its Axis Business Park base, in Croxteth.
A Liverpool Vision spokesman said: “We are working with public and private sector partners to put in place the physical and business support environment which will strengthen the city’s competitive position and deliver sustainable economic growth. Over the past decade Liverpool has undergone positive and dramatic change. The city’s physical infrastructure and economic prospects have been transformed.”
The awards are open to any business operating in the Daily Post circulation area of Merseyside, West Lancashire and North West Cheshire.
The event is a great opportunity for businesses of all types, ages and sizes to gain recognition from the local community for their efforts to create jobs and wealth.
