New British Gas scheme helps small firms with bills and costs

BRITISH Gas has launched a support service for companies struggling to pay energy bills.

Research by the energy provider found that 54% of firms delay paying energy bills to ease cashflow problems.

Now SAVE (Small Business Advice and Value Expertise) will help 750,000 small firms who deal with British Gas manage their costs and debt and even reduce their costs.

The service includes a dedicated expert credit solutions team to resolve debt problems and advice on reducing energy consumption.

An early recipient is Walton fish and chip shop Byrne’s, which has been in the family for more than 70 years and is now owned by Barbara and David Dickson. Mrs Dickson said: “British Gas Business helped us by lowering our monthly bill in order to make it more manageable while we sorted things out – and, as a result, we haven’t missed a payment.”
