WARRINGTON electrical contractor Mike Ridyard has taken over a North Wales rival for an undisclosed sum.
The buyout means B Rogers Electrical, which has a 23-strong workforce and has traded in Mold for more than 27 years, will merge with MC Ridyard to form new business Rogers Electrical.
Speaking after clinching the deal, Mike Ridyard said: “I intend to grow the business dramatically over the next few years.
“Clearly, we presently have a geographical gap between the two old operating areas.
“Consequently, our first area of concentration will be in Chester and surrounding areas, after which we will be able to offer our unique hands-on service farther afield to other areas in the North West.
“We already have numerous national contracts with major customers and these will not be affected by the announcement.
Mr Ridyard added: “We took the time out to present our future proposals to all of our staff, and I have been very encouraged by their reaction."
The turnover of the new combined operation is estimated to be £1.5m in its first year.
