BARCLAYS staff in Liverpool will be raising money for Children’s Hospice UK when they complete a bike ride from Formby to Claire House Children’s Hospice.
The team of 12 staff from Barclays Commercial, in the city centre, will be pedalling 20 miles across some of the region’s coastline on June 30.
In addition to their bike ride, 14 staff will also be pulling on walking boots and climbing Snowdon, in North Wales, for the same cause.
Barclays Commercial staff, from Merseyside, will be raising much-needed funds for children’s hospices across the UK, including Claire House, which provides specialist and end of life care to children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as support for their families in Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
Pat Faraghar, Deputy Appeals Manager at Claire House Children’s Hospice, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the support from Barclays.
“Without help of this nature, we wouldn’t be able to raise the funds necessary to offer the vital help and support for our families.
“Currently, we have to raise over £2.2m a year without any guaranteed government funding. We wish the team all the luck on the day and look forward to welcoming them at the end of their journey.”
The fundraising event is part of a wider initiative to boost income for children’s hospice services across the UK.
