THE heat is on for Gavin Scott Design, as it races to open a shop and supply an award-winning fireplace.
The Birkenhead firm designs and manufactures fireplaces which it distributes through 40 retailers across the country.
It is opening a showroom in Hoylake next month, where it will sell direct to the public. The firm also claimed two awards at the Hearth & Home show this month – for best fireplace suite and the overall show winner of best product.
Gavin Scott said: “We were up against the major blue-chip companies, it was quite something for a small manufacturer like us.”
The firm, which expects to turn over £1m this year, also sells under licence in the United States. He added: “We are doing quite well in the United States; that’s becoming a big side of our business.”
