LOGISTICS group Kuehne + Nagel is relocating its Liverpool city centre base from India Building to the Port of Liverpool Building.
The Swiss giant has signed a 10-year lease with property group Downing to occupy 8,000 sq ft in the Grade II-listed building.
The business, one of the top three logistics companies in the world, will relocate 51 staff from the India Buildings to the newly-refurbished suite on the ground floor of the waterfront landmark.
It is the third major logistics group to move to the Port of Liverpool Building since Downing began marketing its refurbished suites. Robin Ellis, senior agency surveyor at Downing, said: “Kuehne + Nagel is a significant international brand with high standards to match.
“We’ve invested heavily in complementing the Port of Liverpool Building’s presence and character with the facilities and specification that modern businesses demand.
“This letting is further proof of its enduring commercial appeal for occupiers of the highest quality.”
Completed in January, 2009, Downing’s £15m restoration project was one of the UK’s largest privately-funded refurbishments of a listed building.
Works were undertaken throughout the building, with the iconic dome returned to its former glory and its inner glass and marble cleaned and restored for the first time since the building was damaged in the Blitz.
