Halton businesses urged to come together

HALTON Chamber of Commerce wants to build up its community of firms to help companies in Runcorn and Widnes prosper.

It is offering discounted membership as it seeks to add to its 300 members in July.

Eric Hudson, Halton Chamber’s vice chairman, argues that the Chamber holds a vital key to developing a thriving local economy.

He said: “Economic experts are widely agreed that the only way out of the current recession is to support small and medium-sized businesses to succeed and expand.

“With a larger membership, the Chamber could be even more active in supporting local companies to grow and create jobs.”

It is holding three events at The Heath. A summer barbecue takes place this Saturday, its First Tuesday breakfast network event is on Tuesday, July 7, and a Women in Business network lunch on Tuesday, July 14.
