SUTTON Kersh’s latest Liverpool property auction saw 70% of lots sold, generating revenues of £3.9m.
The firm offered 89 lots at its city centre event last week, and says it expects more deals to be secured post-auction.
Repossession properties proved to be particularly popular, with 45 of the 46 selling for above their stated guide prices.
Lot 86, a three bedroom semi-detached property in Formby, sold for £44,000 above guide price. The property, which is let and produces an annual income of £6,930 was guided at £100,000 and sold for £144,000.
Other vacant residential properties that sold well in the room included lot three, a four-bedroom detached property in Halewood that is in need of refurbishment and repair.
Guided at just £125,000, the property attracted numerous under- bidders, and eventually sold for £140,000.
Kersh director James Kersh said: “The auction room was very well attended and bidding levels were higher than they have been for 18 months.
“The majority of sold lots attracted numerous under- bidders and sold for prices well in excess of their guide prices.
“People in room were there to buy and were willing to pay more than the asking price in order to secure their purchase – this is a very good sign.”
