London fitness chain The Gymn chooses Liverpool One residential site for first expansion outside the capital

ONE Park West, in Liverpool One, is to be the first expansion for a London fitness chain outside the capital.

The Gym will open within the stylish residential waterfront block in the autumn.

It already has centres in Hounslow, Guildford and Vauxhall, but later this year and into 2010 it will expand farther into the north of England, using One Park West as the springboard.

Guy Butler, Projects Director with Grosvenor, who developed the £1bn Liverpool One scheme, said: “We have limited commercial units in One Park West, so it is very important to us that we choose companies that fit with the ethos of this landmark building, particularly when it’s not just a business for One Park West residents, but for the people of Liverpool as well.”

The venue will offer 24-hour access, with monthly membership available during a pre-opening period for £9.99.

A spokesperson said: “This is an affordable, no-frills gym service.

“We will have over 170 pieces of equipment at Liverpool. We’ll also be offering a personal trainer service for £25 so you can get your work-out tailored to you and what you want to get out of it.”
