INDEPENDENT wine and spirits merchant Corks Out has embarked on an expansion drive after securing a £70,000 bank funding package.
The Warrington-based company has opened a new store in Heswall, in Wirral, and will follow this by opening another in Alderley Edge, in Cheshire, later this month. Once the new stores are open, Corks Out will have five outlets across the North West.
NatWest in Warrington has provided the extra finance.
Corks Out was established in 2003 by Ruth Yates with the opening of the Stockton Heath store, in Warrington. This was followed by further openings at Chester in 2006 and Timperley last year.
The business has a range of more than 2,500 wines and spirits available via its stores, online or mail order. It employs six full-time staff and three part- time staff.
Ms Yates said: “We are delighted to open our latest store and aim to bring a combination of fine wines and a knowledgeable service to wine lovers across the Wirral.”
