109 lots go under the hammer at property auctions in Merseyside

TWO of Merseyside’s leading property auction houses will hold their next events within 24 hours of each other.

Liverpool-based Sutton Kersh and Wirral-based Smith and Sons will offer a total of 109 lots later this month.

On Wednesday, September 9, at 2pm, Smith and Sons will offer 22 lots at the Village Hotel, in Bromborough.

Among them is a mixed commercial and residential investment in Banks Road, West Kirby, which has been highlighted as an “excellent” investment opportunity with potential for rental growth.

The three-storey building, situated in an established retail and residential area close to the Marina, contains a self-contained ground floor commercial unit and a separate maisonette above, both of which are let to long-term tenants.

On the day after, Thursday, September 10, at 12 noon, Sutton Kersh will offer 87 lots at the city centre Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The opening lot is Riding School House, Grange Lane, near Gateacre Brow. The two-storey detached vacant residential building comprises two to three bedrooms, has off-road car parking, and benefits from gardens to the rear.

The property is in need of upgrading and modernisation and carries a guide price of £155,000 plus.

James Kersh, director at Sutton Kersh, said: “The stock in the current catalogue is some of the best I have seen.

“There are some fantastic deals and there has been lots of interest. A number of properties have sold prior, and I do expect to sell more before hammer day.

“The good news that has surrounded the property market over the past four to five months has instilled confidence back into the market again.

“Investors have recognised that now is a great time to grow their portfolios while prices are low.”
