Shaun Skidmore, director of leisure and alternative investment at CBRE, said: “By 2031, the population of the UK is projected to grow by 7m with vast growth, in particular, within the elderly age group.
“Indeed, the over- 80s population is expected to increase from 2.6m in 2004, to 5m by 2031. Therefore, we shall see the requirement for a range of accommodation for the elderly grow and this site, in the tranquil town of Southport, has fantastic potential to benefit from this projected growth.”
Steven Verity, director of residential property at CBRE, added: “The potential for a new and exclusive residential development on this site is huge.”
