A NINE-ACRE plot in Southport, comprising a number of buildings, has been put on the market.
North West charity Nugent Care has instructed CB Richard Ellis to seek a buyer for the property at 417-449, Liverpool Road.
It includes a large detached former children’s care home.
Shaun Skidmore, director of leisure and alternative investment at CBRE, said: “By 2031, the population of the UK is projected to grow by 7m with vast growth, in particular, within the elderly age group.
“Indeed, the over- 80s population is expected to increase from 2.6m in 2004, to 5m by 2031. Therefore, we shall see the requirement for a range of accommodation for the elderly grow and this site, in the tranquil town of Southport, has fantastic potential to benefit from this projected growth.”
