CONSTRUCTION firm Allenbuild has got its skates on to secure four contracts worth a total of £16m.
It has been named as the preferred contractor to design and build a regeneration scheme on the site of the Silver Blades Ice Rink, in Kensington.
Its other contract wins are for a new education facility at Red Bank Community Home, in Newton-le-Willows, the first phase of a programme of facelifts to more than 100 houses in Wirral, and to build a medical resource centre in Connah’s Quay.
Allenbuild has been responsible for several major projects, including the £25m development of Southport’s Floral Hall Gardens as well as building the Vincent Hotel and Splashworld, also in Southport.
Managing director of Allenbuild North West, Steve Kelly, said: “In this very competitive environment, I am delighted that Allenbuild continues to deliver value for money to the public and private sectors.
“These schemes will enable us to continue to expand our track record in housing, education and healthcare, as well as providing security for our employees and suppliers.”
The Kensington development consists of a community fire station for Merseyside Fire & Rescue, 24 new-build residential apartments and the conversion of a listed building to provide four apartments for Riverside Housing Association.
There is also retail space, including a store for Iceland.
The £5.2m contract is for leading developer CTP , which is working in partnership with Liverpool City Council and Kensington Regeneration.
Allenbuild has begun work on the first phase of the Craven Street/Paterson Street facelift scheme for Wirral Council, which involves the external upgrades to 117 privately owned residential properties.
Works will include items such as new roof coverings, rainwater goods, windows and doors and boundary walls and the installation of solar water heating panels.
It has won a £3.8m partnering contract with St Helens Council to construct an education facility within the secure perimeter of Red Bank Community Home, in Newton-le-Willows, a secure residential home for young people aged 10-17.
It is also designing and building a medical resource centre in Connah’s Quay, North Wales, for Haven Health. The three-storey centre and separate satellite building will bring together three local GP practices and a North Wales NHS Trust clinic on the site of the old market.
