Couple opens Spaceworld play centre in Prescot

HUSBAND and wife team Gillian and Mark Baldwin have launched a £100,000 children’s indoor play centre in Prescot.

The couple have opened SpaceWorld, an 8,000 sq ft attraction in Prescot Business Park.

The centre features a sports area, the latest play equipment, a go-karting facility and a catering and seating area for parents.

The venture has created 10 jobs and will cater for children up to 13.

Gillian has left her job as a beauty consultant to run the new business, while Mark will continue with his job as a firefighter.

The couple secured funding from Royal Bank of Scotland through the Government’s Enterprise Guarantee Scheme.

Mrs Baldwin said: “Our aim is to create a friendly and fun-filled environment that can be enjoyed by all the family, and we are delighted to have finally opened SpaceWorld after many months’ hard work.”

The couple have operated a children’s bouncy castle business for the last five years.
