THE £2.5m modernisation of Castle Chambers, in Liverpool, is nearing completion.
The 50-year-old office building, in Castle Street, has been refurbished to include new entrances, lifts and windows as well as a comprehensive refurbishment of the exterior, common areas and available office space.
Premium Italian restaurant chain San Carlo has recently committed to the building and will be opening for business this autumn.
Mark Worthington, director of office agency at CB Richard Ellis North West, said: “Castle Chambers has undergone a staggering transformation from a fairly ordinary office building into one of the best addresses in the city.
“In terms of the remaining space available, we have around 16,000 sq ft of fully refurbished, air-conditioned accommodation available as a whole or in suites from approximately 1,000 sq ft upwards.”
CBRE, a tenant at Castle Chambers, has managed the refurbishment process and are joint letting agents with Hitchcock Wright.
Last week saw the launch of newly-refurbished space at the nearby One Derby Square, situated at the junction of Castle Street and Lord Street.
Formerly known as Pearl Assurance House, the property has been refurbished at a cost of £2.5m.
Developer Mordril is asking rents of £15.75 per sq ft. Part of the building is already let to HSBC.
