THE industrial team of CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) has let a 50,000 sq ft industrial unit in Golborne.
Ansells Lighting and Electrical has taken unit 6B at Stonecross Park.
The deal sees the Northern Irish manufacturer and distributor of lighting products relocate from its existing 30,000 sq ft facility at Winwick Quay, Warrington, to a distribution facility set to house its mainland UK operations.
The purpose-built premises, currently 50,000 sq ft, is to be extended to 90,000 sq ft within the next two years.
CBRE secured the deal on a 10-year lease with a five-year break with the rent believed to be around £4.75 per sq ft.
Jonathan Thorne, associate director of the industrial agency team at CBRE North West, said: “Stonecross Park is a fantastic location which fitted the requirements of Ansells perfectly.
“Unit 6B is one of the best distribution buildings of its size and type in the North West M6 region and its existing fit out makes it suitable for immediate occupation by the tenant. Ansells requirement had been in the marketplace for some time, so we are extremely pleased to have secured their tenancy at the former AIL building.”
CBRE was the sole letting agent for the landlord, Morley Estates.
The agency is also bringing to market a development site fronting Woodend Avenue, in south Liverpool.
The site, previously the former GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceutical production facility, has changed its use, and plots have so far been sold to VW Golf and Travis Perkins.
The remaining 3.38 acres is available as either smaller individual development plots or as a whole and is being marketed to developers, investors and end users.
Mr Thorne added: “Given the great location of the site, existing tenants and the fact that the area doesn’t have a dedicated trade park, we have branded the site South Liverpool Trade Park.”
