Grant Thornton officially opens new Royal Liver Building offices

ACCOUNTANCY giant Grant Thornton has officially opened its new offices in Liverpool’s iconic Royal Liver Building.

The company moved onto the building’s first floor in 1995, but has now moved up three floors to give it room to expand.

It has moved into 17,200 sq ft of refurbished accommodation on the fourth floor and last night held an official opening with guests including Liverpool Vision chief executive Jim Gill.

Office managing partner Neil Sturmey said the company was pleased to stay on the waterfront, rather than moving into Liverpool’s growing commercial district.

He said: “We believe it makes perfect commercial sense for us to continue to be associated with the Royal Liver Building, one of the most recognisable symbols of Liverpool’s success.”

The practice, which employs more than 100 people in Liverpool, has signed a 15-year lease for its new home.
