£10m facelift leads to new deals at Royal Liver Building

THE £10m refurbishment of the Royal Liver Building is paying dividends, with owners Royal Liver securing a new tenant and nearing the completion of negotiations with a major existing tenant.

The building’s first major internal refurbishment for 30 years has enticed human rights charity Rights and Humanity to the city.

it will move in to its 10,000 sq ft offices in January.

Food and drink group Princes Foods is “close” to renewing, while accountants Grant Thornton last month moved into its fourth-floor, 17,200 sq ft offices after previously being on the building’s first floor.

There is now 20,000 sq ft available, with the building 93% let.

Peter Fane, Royal Liver Group’s head of property, said: “The Royal Liver building has always been an iconic building in Liverpool. However, for a long time, the interior has not matched the standing of the exterior. In terms of providing commercial space, the Royal Liver has upped its game regarding the quality of its offering and we have seen a marked increase in enquiries over the last few months.”

The refurbishment was completed by Warrington-based Claremont Group Interiors.

The latest phase of the project, which includes its west entrance atrium and its north-south corridor, will be unveiled tonight.
