Liverpool FC set to take space at 20 Chapel Street

LIVERPOOL Football Club is set to become the next high-profile tenant of 20 Chapel Street.

LDP Business understands the club is about to sign up for a whole floor of the prestige commercial development in the heart of the city’s business district.

The accommodation would total 9,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, but property sources also say the club is considering occupying a further two floors, taking the total space to 28,000 sq ft.

Liverpool FC said last night it was looking to move departments to new space in the city centre.

A spokesman added: “We are looking at various locations, but nothing has been finalised.”

The club’s commercial department currently occupies office space in the Daily Post & Echo building, in nearby Old Hall Street, and it seems likely that would be one of the departments to move.

In the last few weeks, 20 Chapel Street has secured three new tenants – advertising agency Finch, accountancy firm Jackson and the BoConcept interiors store.

Existing tenants include Barclays, Bank of Ireland, Ernst & Young, stockbrokers Panmure Gordon, architects Broadway Malyan and Poole PR.

Building owner Rumford Investments was also last night guarded on the Liverpool FC deal.

The development’s commercial marketing consultant, Alistair Newman, said: “We are currently in detailed and positive discussions with a number of occupiers regarding a substantial amount of floorspace which, if the lettings come to fruition, would bring the total floorspace occupied at 20 Chapel Street to in excess of 80,000 sq ft.

“Hopefully we will be in a position to make some announcements in this regard in the near future.”
