Liverpool Vision appoints DPP for create north Liverpool plan

THE newly-formed urban design & master planning practice, DPP Shape, has been appointed to create a strategic regeneration framework (SRF) for north Liverpool.

The company has been selected by Liverpool Vision and its partners Liverpool City Council, the Northwest Development Agency, Homes and Communities Agency, Sefton Council and the Government Office for the North West.

The SRF is a collaborative proposal focusing on neighbourhoods which have shared geography of the docklands edge stretching from Liverpool city centre out to Bootle.

DPP Shape will work with other firms on the plan including Liverpool commercial property consultancy Keppie Massie.

Shelagh McNerney, managing director at DPP Shape, said: “North Liverpool is one of the most strategically important regeneration areas in the country, and we relish the opportunity to work with local partnerships to re-shape regeneration strategies for positive change.”

Jim Gill, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, said the appointment was an important first step in delivering the next tranche of regeneration in the city.
