LIVERPOOL Lord Mayor Cllr Mike Storey will help relaunch Johnson Cleaners in Dale Street as an eco-friendly GreenEarth outlet on Friday.
The city centre store has undergone a transformation costing £35,000.
Johnson Cleaners, the UK’s largest dry cleaning company with 500 branches across the UK, is investing up to £6m to transform 150 more branches to eco-friendly GreenEarth stores by 2012.
GreenEarth cleaning is available for the same price as traditional dry cleaning but is claimed to be kinder to clothes, skin and the environment.
It uses gentle liquid silicone cleaning solvents that come from naturally occurring sand and gives fabric a softer feel, with no tell-tale dry cleaning smell.
The re-launch of the Dale Street branch also signifies the company’s commitment to environmental issues with its partnership of Daily Post publisher Trinity Mirror’s “It’s our World” initiative.
