Paula Cain is stepping down as chief executive of Knowsley Chamber of Commerce later this month after 19 years with the organisation.
Ms Cain said that she was at a point in her career where she wanted to explore “new and fresh challenges”, having served at the chamber in her current role for the last 12 years.
She joined Knowsley Chamber in September 1990 as manager and was appointed chief executive in 1997.
She has since built strong relationships with some of the borough’s major employers including QVC, Jaguar, and Sonae.
Ms Cain, 49, has expanded the range of services available to the chamber members and more recently, she founded the popular Knowsley Women in Business networking events.
She told LDP Business: “Since starting with the Chamber in September 1990, I have seen a huge amount of positive change and development in Knowsley and its business community.
“I am leaving at a point where I am confident that the chamber can promote and support its members and the wider business community to an even greater extent.”
