Smith and Sons sells 50% at final property auction of year

WIRRAL property firm Smith and Sons is reporting sales of £622,000 for its final auction of the year.

The sale, at the Village Hotel, in Bromborough, saw 50% of the lots on offer sold.

Several properties were sold for prices well in excess of the guides, with a piece of land in Leasowe selling for over five times the expected price.

Smith & Sons auctioneer Chris Johnson said: “This auction generated a significant level of interest, and we were pleasantly surprised by the level of bidding and remain confident that the market is showing signs of recovery.”

Smith and Sons’ next auction is to be held on February 23, 2010, and entries are invited by the middle of January.
