STEPHENSONS Solicitors was one of six St Helens businesses to achieve Gold at the 2009 Keep Britain Tidy Business Awards.
The law firm, which has an office on Corporation Street, was recognised for its commitment to achieving excellent standards in environmental practices.
Cllr Carole Kavanagh, executive member for environmental protection, praised the winners, saying they had demonstrated their commitment to improving environmental quality.
She added: “Environmental initiatives can save businesses a lot of money while enhancing their reputation among customers.” Stephensons partner Karen Atkins said: “As a large and responsible local employer, we know we must play our part in reducing our carbon footprint and this award demonstrates that we are actively pursuing and achieving a more environmental approach to business.”
