Liverpool entrepreneurs launch the Casino Training Academy

TWO Liverpool entrepreneurs have launched the Casino Training Academy in the city centre.

Amanda Evans and Sally Chong have pooled more than 30 years of casino experience to deliver industry-standard croupier training with assistance from business support organisation, Waves Enterprise.

Based in Parr Street Studios, the academy currently takes on eight students per month to achieve entry level in blackjack and roulette. Further training in other games at level two is also available.

The academy was started after Ms Evans and Ms Chong identified that there was no resource in Liverpool for people who wanted to train for a career in the casino industry.

It meant that local casinos had to look outside the area for staff.

Ms Evans said: “We approached Waves Enterprise for support and they have helped us expand our horizons by offering us business advice, industry contacts and knowledge.

“They have affiliated us with the Jobs Education Training company and we can now offer funded places and NVQ qualifications as part of the course.”

Debbie Elliot-Brown, business facilitator for Waves Enterprise, said: “It has been a pleasure to support them and the Waves business resource panel has done a great job.”
