Former English Cities Fund chief executive Lesley Chalmers embarks on a new career as a professional photographer

LESLEY CHALMERS’S life has plenty of focus, after she retired as English Cities Fund chief executive.

For the high-flyer has realised her ambition of becoming a professional photographer and now boasts a client list from corporates to stars of stage and screen.

She said: “Life is very different now, and I’m pleased to say that the new business has taken off fantastically.

“I think people realise that this is a serious career change for me, rather than just ‘tinkering with lenses’ for fun.” Her work has been exhibited in Manchester and will be shown later this year in Cheshire.

She added: “There is no typical day for me. A week’s to-do list included a ‘day-in-the-life’ style shoot for a hospice annual report; discussions with a client in Australia who wants fresh images of the UK arm of her business for a new brochure and website update and a family portrait shoot.”

English Cities Fund delivered the £120m St Paul’s Square scheme.
