More than 20 workers complete plant training

MORE than 20 workers at a construction supply firm in Liverpool have completed NVQs in Level 2 Specialised plant and machinery.

Cubis Liverpool, which manufactures self-contained access chambers for rail tunnels, sewers and other major construction projects, turned to South Birmingham College’s Forklift and Logistics Training Academy, based at the Highgate Centre, Highgate, to provide training for its staff.

Tutors visited CUBIS over a period of seven months to provide on-site training.

Bill Cumlin, an assessor and trainer at the Highgate Centre, who oversaw the training., said: “We delivered the Forklift truck training to more than 20 staff and carried out the SPMO NVQ Level 2 assessment over time to ensure the training was being carried out in practice.

“Attaining the qualification gives the workers confidence,” he added.
