LIVERPOOL home and DIY store group Taskers has boosted staff morale by making all 300 employees “partners” and awarding bonuses worth £100,000.
The £20m turnover Aintree- based business has also pledged to boost the bonus pot as turnover increases. Family-owned Taskers, which has stores in Aintree and Wavertree, paid staff for their performance during the financial year ending November 2009.
The bonus for the current financial year starts at a guaranteed £100,000 and increases by an extra £100,000 for each 5% improvement in sales.
Directors have also been considering the possibility of offering staff shares in the company.
Managing director John Tasker said: “We played around with lots of variations on a bonus scheme but in the end we wanted a simple and transparent system that we can keep all the partners continually updated on.
“It’s clear for all to see that more sales equals a higher fund, and ultimately a bigger payment for them.
“Staff have a guaranteed minimum bonus pot of £100,000 with a very realistic chance of doubling, trebling, or quadrupling the fund and their individual share.
“It’s a win-win deal and staff have been extremely receptive.”
