‘Augmented reality’ display for arena and convention centre

DESIGN company Splinter has been appointed to develop a new interactive exhibition display to promote the BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena.

Splinter’s exhibition stand will use “augmented reality” technology to merge computer-generated images with photos.

The stand will be unveiled for the first time at Confex, an international exhibition in London for event organisers and venues across the world.

Splinter is developing a card which delegates will be given before visiting the ACC Liverpool stand. When they hold up the card in front of the stand’s TV, a 3D animated version of the ACC Liverpool logo will appear, revealing a range of prizes available such as a trip to Liverpool.

Jacquie Rogers, general manager of the BT Convention Centre, said: “We wanted to do something which was a bit different, utilising cutting-edge technology to give our stand an extra wow factor.”
