Airangel wins hotel contracts

WARRINGTON wi-fi provider Airangel has landed two new contracts.

The Birchwood-based company, a supplier of wired and wireless guest internet access, has secured deals with hotel groups Somerston Hotels Limited and Corus.

Airangel has signed a three-year contract with Somerston Hotels to provide guest internet access at four of its Holiday Inn Express hotels. The deal will see wi-fi installed at its Hammersmith, Luton, Swindon and Milton Keynes sites.

The firm has also secured a three-year deal with Corus at its flagship hotel in London’s Hyde Park. Airangel will provide guest internet access throughout the 385-bedroom hotel. It currently supplies wi-fi to more than 11,400 rooms across the UK.

The hotels can use the portals to directly market to their guests, creating added occasion for personalised dialogue with their customers.

Dean Wilkinson, sales director of Airangel, said: “These deals mark a fantastic start to 2010, and we will be looking to extend our reach across the hotel and hospitality sector throughout the year.

“We have substantial experience in the hotel industry and winning these prestigious contracts is testament to the technology we use.

“We worked closely with both hotel groups to understand their commercial and budgetary objectives.”

Andrew Thombs, IT and systems development manager at Somerston Hotels, said: “Feedback from our guests tells us that a fast and reliable internet connection is critical to their purchasing decisions.”
